Hey — I'm Brett. I live in Portland, Oregon, and I've been shipping code professionally since 2015. My path started in agencies and CMS work (Craft, Drupal, Laravel), moved through blockchain and smart contracts, and these days I mostly point my curiosity at running machine learning on hardware I can hold.

I own and operate Brilliance, a digital marketing agency — that's the day job that pays for the SBCs stacked on my desk. This site is where the after-hours stuff lives: the edge-AI blueprints, the from-scratch experiments, the things I build because I want to know how they work.

The through-line is the same as it's always been: own the whole stack. I like systems where I understand every layer — from the DHCP lease on the LAN to the pose keypoints coming out of the model. That's why this site is called Blueprints: every project should be something a reader can rebuild themselves.

Outside the terminal I'm outdoors — Pacific Northwest trails and rivers, mostly. Studied Natural Resources Management before I fell into programming, and it shows up in how I think about durability, resource use, and building things meant to last.

Most of my off-hours belong to my daughter Emma and our brand-new puppy Rudy — between the two of them, quiet moments at the desk are rare and the ones I get done anyway feel earned.
